Welcome spring!
04/04/2018Welcome spring!
To welcome this season of the year in which the trees begin to bloom we bring you an incredible visual spectacle of Thailand known as the Pink Lotus Sea.
Over 3 months, at Nong Han Kum Pavapi, a freshwater lake in the northeastern province of Udon Thani, Thailand, is covered with an incredible mantle of pink lotus flower about 70 square kilometers in size.
The best time to see this flower show is from 6 o'clock in the morning until 12 o'clock in the afternoon since, later, it closes with the sun's rays.
We recommend you rent a boat to get into the waters through the small channels. Thus, you will be surrounded by thousands of floating flowers and their bright colors.
In the East, the lotus flower means spiritual purity. The lotus (padma), also known as the sacred lotus, is an aquatic plant that blooms in the water.
In Buddhist symbolism, the most important meaning of the lotus flower is the purity of the body and the soul. Symbolically, it is associated with the Buddha figure and its teachings and, for this reason, they are sacred flowers for the peoples of the East.
Legend has it that when the Buddha boy took the first steps, in all the places he stepped on, lotus flowers bloomed!
